About the Initiative

From a reunion to an institution

What began as a desire to reconnect people who share a common history can become something much larger. The community already has roots, relationships, talent, experience, stories and a culture of support. The next step is to build the structure that brings these assets together - the Black-Tie Initiative seeks to become that structure.

Sarah Nahabi
Chairperson

Dear Family, Friends, Fellow Alumni, and Partners,

It is with great joy and a deep sense of purpose that I welcome you to our Annual Black-Tie Dinner Gala 2026. This gathering is more than a celebration — it is a reaffirmation of our shared roots, our collective strength, and our commitment to building a brighter future together.

As Chairperson, I am inspired by the unity, purpose and resilience of our alumni community. Our success is rooted in the people, the values and the legacy of Nakawa Estate.

This Gala is an opportunity to reconnect, strengthen our bonds, and contribute to a greater cause — ensuring that our shared history continues to create opportunities for the next generation.

To our valued sponsors and partners, your support is vital. It enables us to invest in education, mentorship, entrepreneurship and community initiatives through the Impact Fund. Together, we can turn shared memories into real opportunities.

Let us make this Gala a launchpad for lasting partnerships, meaningful connections and greater impact.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
